Predominantly Purple

It's time for me to turn up the speed and crank out more Valentines projects to be ready for a craft sale in a couple of weeks. Blog challenges have so much inspiration there's a never-ending stream of ideas flowing in cyberspace. I had wanted to put a card in Freshly Made sketches challenge, but missed the deadline. You can see their many examples here. I used their sketch #16, a really easy one.  I'm still trying to learn to make Clean and Simple cards and don't think I'm getting away from layers yet. Less is More Challenged us to make Predominantly Purple cards clean and simple. I rarely use purple, although in Junior High my entire bedroom was purple. Valentines are perfect for purple! Here's my first Valentine example:

I was disappointed that I couldn't get the colors to show correctly on the computer, but I guess you get the idea. I took it a step further and made another card that's not so clean and simple:

The Sentiments were from a Close To My Heart stamp set called Card Chatter - Love. It has a lot of phrases that you can put together in different ways to convey your intended message. Love it!

Materials:
Paper - CTMH retired Lavendar gingham and floral, Smoky Plum Cardstock
Ink - Smokey Plum
Stamps - CTMH "So lucky" (hearts); "Connections"(circle), "Card Chatter-Love" (sentiments); Love Ya!(title on 2nd card)
Accessories - 1 3/8" circle punch, satin ribbon from Hobby Lobby
