Twist of Faith #63 - Lots of Layers

Today and tonight we will have our coldest weather of the season so far.  I always feel sorry for the animals on our farm when they're hit with the first really cold night. Tonight the temperatures will be down to 13 degrees. This is one of those times when we like to wear lots of layers of clothing and stay inside where it's warm!

Today our challenge at Twist of Faith is to make a card with
Lots of Layers!
Your card should also include a scripture, uplifting verse or positive words/quote.

Our blog is sharing the following verse:

"Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great You are!  You are robed with honor and majesty."
~ Psalm 104:1 ~

Our sponsor this week is MelJen's Designs, who will be awarding a 4 uncolored images to our winner. I used her image called "Pretty Poinsettia" which was perfect for making an image in layers to go along with layers of patterned papers that I used.

I thought this Sweet Sketch #231-101from Sweet Sketch Wednesday went perfectly with our challenge for making a card with lots of layers:

I printed the poinsettia image 4 times and colored them with Copic markers (YG03, G24, G94;RV29, R29, R35, R89, Y15), cut, and layered four parts of the image, attaching them with dimensional glue dots in the middle and slightly curving the unadhered edges to highlight the four layers.

The papers are from Graphic45 and Basic Grey. The ribbon on the left is velvet, but doesn't show the rich texture in our limited lighting on this cloudy day. In addition to layering paper, I layered two bows, one with ribbon and the black crochet thread bow in the button.

Last Friday I was typing lots of Christmas card sentiments. You can also find some free ones on internet by doing a google search. I made up my own sentiment for the front of this card:

I saved my sentiment as a jpg in case you'd like to use it. You can click on the sentiment below to get the larger image, then right click on it to do a "save as" and put it in your own sentiment folder. Before printing, you have to resize it to print it the desirable, smaller size.

Thanks for visiting. I can't wait to see your card with lots of layers. I know you make them! Please share yours with us at Twist of Faith this week!

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:

Crafty Blogger's Network - November/Christmas
Lady Anne's November Challenge - More than one layer

Stamping Sensations -  November challenge = Christmas
