Butterfly Thinking of You

One of my friends lost her mother recently. I know how that feels. Even though my mom had been seriously sick for about six weeks, it was still difficult to face the finality of not being able to call her on the phone or see her on holidays. I've met a number of people over the years who feel the same way I do, thinking of mom brings tears to their eyes. I think there is a special bond between mothers and their children that is never broken. The factor that makes it more bearable is knowing that my mom is in heaven with her mom, both of them in a place with no tears, no illness or pain, ready for me to join them when it's my turn to go. My friend is finding strength by joining a Bible study with other ladies who are encouraged by scripture and fellowship. I made this card today to let my friend know that I'm thinking of her and praying that God will comfort and strengthen her during difficult moments.

This week Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge was to make a card using their sketch.

The image I used was from ODBD Butterfly Corner. I stamped the butterfly a second time and cut out, only adhering the middle body part and adding black pearls. I colored the images with Copics and ShinHan Touch Twin Y49 Pastel Green marker. I used papers from My Mind's Eye "Cambridge Court" paper pack. The oval was cut using Spellbinders Lacey Ovals. The sentiment comes from ODBD All Occasion Sentiments.

Thank you for visiting!  May God bless you as you encourage others who have lost a loved one. May He encourage and comfort you when you, too, experience loss.

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:
Amusing Challenge - die cuts
Hiding in my Craft Room #161 - use ribbon (I used 3 kinds, velvet, satin, and organdy)
Kitty Bee Designs #30 - in the Garden
Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge #211
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge #42 - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #145 - anything goes with uplifting message

To this day when I see something Mommy would have liked I think, oh I must fax Mom and tell her .......Sometimes I cry. Your card is so very pretty, the Butterfly looks like it wants to take flight. We are always so happy when you take time to post with us.
God Bless you,

Oh, Vicki, I absolutely love this card! Your colors and papers are so delicate and beautiful, and I love the butterfly atop the delicately colored daisies at the bottom of your scalloped oval! Beautiful! And I know that someone very special is going to LOVE this card, as I do! So glad you joined us for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge! Hugs!
