This week at The Perfect Sentiment Challenge I had the opportunity to create a different kind of card. Here's the challenge:
Create a card with a sentiment to fit this twist - A major holiday just passed where we give thanks for all that we have and for all those we love. But, I bet there is someone out there, who could use a little recognition simply because they mean a lot to you. Maybe it is someone who provides a great service to you or your family but there isn't a holiday to recognize them.
I decided to mix a Christmas card with an appreciation to someone in full time Christian service. I need several of these cards for our pastor and the Christian school teachers who educate my grandchildren. I want them to know that I don't take them for granted, that I appreciate all that they do. This card I made specifically for our pastor. As I made it I tried to maintain a masculine tone.
This challenge is being sponsored by Pattie's Creations, who will give a free digital stamp to one lucky winner in our challenge.
I used this sketch from Papertake Weekly. I knew that I needed a large horizontal shape and a small vertical area for my sentiment. This sketch was perfect for that.
The sentiment I used on the front of my card comes from the digital version of Clear Dollar Stamps "Church Chatter." The Bethlehem scene is their Little Bethlehem color digital image. It also comes in outline version for you to color. I took the quick route and printed the color version on the same designer paper I used to print the sentiment strip. Then I fussy cut the image and pop dotted it on an oval cut with Cricut Art Philosophy.
My inside sentiment comes from Clear Dollar Stamps, Christmas Card Sentiments. If you're looking for a great variety of inside sentiments, that set has about 21 verses and scripture to use on Christmas cards for only $3.00. I was amazed when it was introduced.
I hope this gives you some ideas for your own cards and may God bless you as you bless others in your cards and giving.
I am sharing this card with the following challenges:
Cards for Men #24 - Christmas
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #100 - for someone special - our pastor
Papertake Weekly Challenge #74 - Use any of their sketches. (I used this week's sketch.)

What a wonderful card - I'm sure it will be a blessing and encouragement to your pastor. Your entry has just cost me money because I couldn't resist the Bethlehem images so I visited CDS and bought them and also another set of images - - thanks for joining in my CHNC challenge 100 - hope to see you again soon - new challenge tomorrow morning x
Wow! Your card is stunning. The stamp of Bethlehem is beautifully colored. Thanks for playing along with The Paper Girls!
This is such a gorgeous card. Love the details and the colours also. Hugs Michele x
Beautiful scene card. Your coloring and layout are just outstanding!
Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it
was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I had written and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for first-time blog writers? I'd certainly appreciate it.
