I've been honored to be on the design team of CDS. At first I was a customer because they had so many Scripture digis and other faith-related sentiments. They were initially named Clear Dollar Stamps. Earlier this year the name was changed to Clearly Digi Stamps. You may have seen the announcement that they will be closing on the last day of this month.

In honor of their closing, I thought I'd highlight some of their digis and give you a chance to consider getting some of their digis for the last time.

Here's a card I made using one of the fall images by Austie Bost in a set called Decorative Flowers.
There is also a separate set of images that are all outline drawings for you to color here. I chose this because of the fall pumpkin holding the flowers.

 

I chose this verse for the inside on the left:

All of my designer papers are from Basic Grey (Origins and Nook & Pantry). The front sentiment is from a zip strip at the top of a retired CTMH Pemberly paper. I used Photoshop to lighten some of the colors on the colored image so that I could add colors with Copics: R01, R02, R21, R81; RV23; E00; Y13; G24, G85, N0, and the 0 blender.

If you came here from Dana's blog you're on the right track for the blog hop. Today I'm using Lori McCroskey's stamp set "Christmas Card Sentiments." This is a great set of sentiments for the inside as well as the outside of your Christmas cards. It also contains Christmas Scriptures. Be sure to check out all of them at the link above.

Here is my CAS type Christmas card using Christmas Card Sentiments, Cricut Artbooking, 2 shades of Green Glitter paper, and the Sizzix/Tim Holtz "Wood Grain" embossing folder, using the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week and the Merry Monday Christmas Card Club #74 to use green, white, and woodgrain.

.  My outside sentiment was printed first before embossing. I folded a piece of cardstock to fit over and behind the sentiment before I embossed it so it wasn't as deeply embossed as the rest.

 

 The tree and the background woodgrain were both cut using the <L> key of the Cricut Artbooking cartridge. I really like the way you can size this woodgrain to fit your card using Real Dial Size. The square woodgrain overlay was cut at 6.25, just smaller than my card and trimmed off the right side to fit the 5" width. The center sentiment panel is 4" x 4" with the Pear mat cut at 4.25" square. The tree was cut at 3.75" to fit the panel. The left side strips were cut at 5/8" and 3/8."

This inside sentiment is my favorite and goes with the sentiment printed on the front since they both talk about the JOY we have in Christ.  Printing your own inside sentiment allows you to add your own "signature" like I did using MS Word or Photoshop. My card is 6.5" x 5" so I printed my sentiment easily on a 6" x 4" card. That makes it easy to print a stack of the sentiments to use inside cards.

Clearly Digi Stamps Sheltering Light Cards

Looking through my card stash made me realize I need a lot more masculine cards. Here are two masculine cards I made with images from Clearly Digi Stamps using Laurie Wilson's set called "Sheltering Light." (Laurie will gradually be adding her CDS stamps to her store, "Doodle Pantry.")

I chose this week's challenge sketch and photo inspiration at Fusion for both cards. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and used the octopus inspiration for a sea scene.

I also used this boat scene from Challenges and Candies for color inspiration emphasizing blue, green, red and white.

 

My first card uses two of the sentiments and one of the lighthouse stamps in this set. It's made using the Close To My Heart papers and canvas oar sticker from the "Tommy" collection and the CTMH black button brads and hemp. I used the pre-colored image, then re-colored parts of it for shadows on the lighthouse and grass and darker sky. I altered the image in Photoshop by using the ellipse tool to make it an oval for the sketch used. The sentiment was a one line row of words. I used Photoshop to copy and paste a new document with the words in two lines so I could punch it out with a 1.75" circle punch. The Outdoor Denim scalloped circle behind it was cut with the Spellbinder's Scalloped Circle Nestabilities.

 

 

The inside of the card uses a Scripture from the set:

I believe I shared another time about one of my friends who lived in Brazil with her husband and baby. One night when she was home alone with the baby, a man broke into her home with a machete. She had her baby in her arms when she saw him come into the hallway where she was standing. She cried out, "Dear Jesus, help me!" The man looked above her head and had a frightened look in his eyes. He turned and ran out. She and I were sure he must have seen God's angels protecting her.  His name IS A STRONG TOWER OF SAFETY.

My second card was inspired by the Card Crafters Challenge to use checks and tartan plaids. I used the same sketch and this time didn't shade the colored image from Clearly Digi Stamps.

The papers are from The Paper Studio and some very old blue plaid from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is a Scripture from Close To My Heart's new set called "Look to the Light."

Clearly Digi Stamps August New Release - In Season

This is the second stamp set I'm showing today. You can find everyone's artwork for all of the new August release stamp sets at our blog, Clearly iStamp.

Here is the card I made using all four seasons of the stamp set In Season. I chose to use a Close To My Heart paper, Sarita, because it had colors appropriate for every season. I loved the variety of sentiments that came with this set, so you get a lot for a low price.

Clearly Digi Stamps August New Release - Butterfly and Flowers

Today at Clearly Digi Stamps, you can find all of the latest newly released stamp sets and artwork using them.  You can see everyone's art at our blog, Clearly iStamp. I made two cards using Butterfly and Flowers. The first one has an image with a great sentiment that can benefit anyone. I kept my card simple so that I wouldn't detract from the sentiment of this pre-colored image. I colored three butterflies from this set to look like the earliest ones I see on our farm in the spring.  I rolled a glue dot to attach them under the body, leaving the wings free to "flutter."

I printed two flowers, colored one and attached to the card. I only colored the central part of the image to cut out and pop dot on the first flower.

CiSC #4 - Lift the Person Before You

This is a mid-challenge post for Clearly iStamp Blog Challenge #4 - Lift the Person Before You.

Kathy's Directions:  Go to the blog of the person before you and find a crafty project that inspires you. "Lift" the design, elements, theme, sketch, etc. In your post tell us who and what you "lifted" (if you can post the project or/and link to the project"

My person to lift on our design team is Dee Pritschet. 

What is the same:
Her easel card had a fun fold and an image and sentiment I'd been wanting to use.
I also used the pre-colored images like Dee did.

What is different:
I changed the fold to a cascading card,
fussy cut the images instead of keeping it intact,
flipped the main image horizontally for more flowers,
and used a different color scheme.

Here is Dee's fun card that I lifted:

My color scheme came fro the pre-colored images which I thought matched the Sarita double-sided paper.

You can see the folds better from the side view and the top view.

The flowers and dragonfly were adhered in such a way that a small part overlapped the sections of the two pieces so that it wouldn't slide apart. I added an extra border on top of the last section and a mat on back to sign or write a brief message.

Starry Christmas Angel

I saw Hazel's Christmas challenge to spread a little Joy and Love and knew I needed to use an angel with the Good News of Christ's birth. I'm sure that the shepherds who heard that message were filled with wonder and joy at the news that the Messiah had come. That message spread both joy and God's love for mankind. What is amazing is that the message of Love and Joy is for all ages. May God's Love bless you with Joy today and always!

I used the great angel stamp from Clearly Digi Stamps, "Angel" and the sentiment "Christmas Blessings."

The star overlay was so easy to cut. I used ProPlayer dp and the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge. I set the Real dial size at 4" then matted the overlay with silver glitter paper. They were mounted on the snowflake paper of the Frosted paper pack.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday with Floral Jug

I've been looking out my kitchen window enjoying some "Brown-eyed Susans" that had self-seeded and came up volunteer in my garden. We didn't have them last year in the drought, so it was nice to see that some seeds must have still been viable. It's been many years since I planted them. Flowers are such a blessing from God. I'm amazed at the evidence that He loves color, design, variety,  and pattern even more than we crafters do!

The image I'm using today has such a nice selection of flowers that I wanted to share it with you today. It's called "Floral Jug" by Laurie Wilson from Clearly Digi Stamps. I chose to use the colored image for a fast card.

To start my card, I chose to use the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and Bingo from Crafting for all Seasons.

 

 

 



This month I'm trying to show my friends how to "use it up." The pink paper on the bottom is from our CTMH "Flirty" workshop and the Crème Brulee is from "Veranda" from Spring 2010. I have so many brads I'm not sure that I'll ever use them up except for the corduroy brads. Close To My Heart also stopped making the organdy ribbons long ago and I still have plenty for cards like this one that is Pansy Purple like the brads.

The Cuttlebug embossing folder that I used is called "Textile." I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities called "Lattice Rectangles."

Clearly Digi Stamps July Release - Time for School

This is my second post today introducing some of the new July Release digi stamp sets from Clearly Digi Stamps. Probably because I'm a retired teacher, I love to make school related cards for my grandkids and their teachers. Here are my first two using images from "Time for School" by Patrick Dunnigan.

This first card is for my oldest grandson. I picked him up after the first half day of school last year and I think he felt this way. His teacher had given them a reading list for the year that included the type of book, type of report presentation, and how many pages, beginning at 500 and increasing through the year. It didn't take long for him to see how manageable that was.

 

 

I plan to give the 2nd card to the new 1st grade teacher when I take her some book donations for her classroom (minus the worms!)

Load of Birthday Blessings Masculine Card

I live on a farm near Kansas City, Missouri. This year God has blessed us with enough rain that we are no longer in a serious drought like we were last year. It's wonderful to drive past fields flourishing with corn, soybeans, or grasses ready to be cut for hay.

I made this masculine birthday card that's perfect for our area farmers.  I used one of the newer digi stamps from Clearly Digi Stamps. The set is called "Construction" and has some "punny" sentiments. The images are great for masculine cards. Since I needed a birthday sentiment, I concocted and printed my own using Word. I used a play on words using the idea of the front-end loader and a load of blessings. You are welcome to save and use my sentiment jpg if desired. Just click on it to get the larger version, then right click and do a save as. When you're ready to print you can resize it to 2" or the desired size. I simply drew a cloud shape around mine with a Copic marker before cutting it out.

I chose this week's sketch from Feeling Sketchy so that I could use some masculine papers from CTMH several years ago.

 

I used the pre-colored loader for a fast card and mounted it on brown striped paper that I hoped looked like a plowed field. I added the blue strip for sky, but sanded it so that it mildly resembled light clouds. That's what I love about Close To My Heart papers - they have a white core that can show through with distressing. I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the 4.5" circle for the background.

 

 

To add to the masculine feel, I used brown hemp, corrugated bracket and CTMH metallic durables.

Mojo Monday 299 with Asian Plant

This weekend we helped my son, his wife, and their 5-year-old move into their new house. They had been living with her mother for about a year, saving money to get their own house. I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week to make them a congratulations card. I could have used house images, but as I carried home décor that had been left in storage, I talked with them about getting to use their lovely Asian décor again. I had the perfect image from Clearly Digi Stamps.

Here's the fun sketch #299 from Mojo Monday. I used a 5" square card.

First, I had selected papers to match the inspiration photo at The Ribbon Reel challenge for this week: the juniper and crème brulee papers from two older CTMH packets and a pink ribbon from my stash.  My yellow was softer than my inspiration photo from The Ribbon Reel, but it's still a yellow.

Then, I combined one of the many sentiments from Clearly Digi Stamps', "Coffee Cup Greetings"  with the "Asian Plants" image. I used the colored digi and it matched my papers perfectly. The Plum Blossoms embossing folder added more Asian flair although my flower wasn't quite so Asian, but looked better than smaller ones. The juniper (aqua) paper was cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities "Lacey Circles."

Clearly iStamp Challenge - Red, White, and Blue

After a brief break, it's time to begin our challenges again with Clearly iStamp Blog Challenge #1 (CiSC1) - Color Challenge - Red, White and Blue. Your project can be any theme as long as the colors are ONLY the shades of Red, White and Blue (neutrals are okay to add). Any type of crafty project is allowed as long as it meets the theme.

Time: June 21st @ 10 am - July 4th @ 11 pm (Central Time)

Clearly Digi Stamps June Release - Framed Comfort and Make Believe

I was so happy to see the images being released today  at Clearly Digi Stamps for the June Release. My first set is four of the Framed Comfort digis that I used to make pages for my Scripture Display Album that is 6" x 6". I'm designing this gift album with verses of comfort for each page.
