Our Daily Bread Designs Fall Card

The weather news this week displayed maps of the U.S. showing where trees were changing colors. I noticed some of the sites were places we've gone on fall photo trips. My memory is full of scenes with the beauty of God's creation in the fall. He designed our world as the Master Artist. This was a fall photo I took in the Wyoming Tetons when the trees started to turn red and gold.

This year, I chose to make cards with fall colors instead of taking photo trips.  This card uses a Scripture from Our Daily Bread Designs that is perfect for seasonal cards. It's from their Scripture Collection 1. I typed the beautiful verse here for easy translation for those who use translations to read my blog post.

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

The current word for the challenge at Word Play Saturday is "Seasons." When I think of the way our four seasons are distinct where I live as well as "reliable," I think of the way God can be counted on to bring each of the four seasons, year after year. When I studied science in college I saw the beauty of God's design in the way our planets rotate around the sun to bring each season. Despite climatic variations, such as colder, warmer, drier, or wetter weather some years, we still get four different seasons, year after year. What a beautiful illustration of what some call the "immutability" or unchanging nature of God.  How great is the fact that God never changes! His love, His Word, and His nature never change. His promises never change. We can count on His love, mercy, and grace to be the same today as they were yesterday, to be the same for us as they were for the saints of old.

So here is my card representing "Seasons."

I embossed the background with Cuttlebug branch of leaves. A small strip of autumn leaves dp long retired from CTMH anchors the Spellbinders die cut, verse, organdy ribbon, leaves, and mocha pearls. I used a Martha Stewart leafy branch punch with New England Ivy cs and one leaf from Recollections. I sponged Cranberry ink on the embossed leaves and cocoa ink on the edges of the papers.

May God bless you  as you see the beauty in His creation and understand His unchangeable love for you!

A Little Bit of Sunshine . . . Pumpkin Vase

I've been honored to be on the design team of CDS. At first I was a customer because they had so many Scripture digis and other faith-related sentiments. They were initially named Clear Dollar Stamps. Earlier this year the name was changed to Clearly Digi Stamps. You may have seen the announcement that they will be closing on the last day of this month.

In honor of their closing, I thought I'd highlight some of their digis and give you a chance to consider getting some of their digis for the last time.

From now until the 30th of September all digis and SVG files will be 25% off!  Enjoy!

Clearly Digi Stamps will be closing September 30th

Here's a card I made using one of the fall images by Austie Bost in a set called Decorative Flowers.
There is also a separate set of images that are all outline drawings for you to color here. I chose this because of the fall pumpkin holding the flowers.

I chose this verse for the inside on the left:

Here's a jpg file of the verse I typed in case you'd like to use it some time.

Here is the lovely photo from Basic Grey Challenges that I used for choosing fall colors:

I used this sketch from Papertake Weekly:

All of my designer papers are from Basic Grey (Origins and Nook & Pantry). The front sentiment is from a zip strip at the top of a retired CTMH Pemberly paper. I used Photoshop to lighten some of the colors on the colored image so that I could add colors with Copics: R01, R02, R21, R81; RV23; E00; Y13; G24, G85, N0, and the 0 blender.

Thank you for visiting. May you grow in God's grace and share your sunshine with the world around you!

MME Scripture Notecard #4

Here's another simple Scripture notecard that I'm making for sets of 10 notecards for the craft fairs in area churches this fall. This one has some bulkier embellishments.

I chose this color scheme from Inspired By:

I love this verse about God being a sun and shield for those of us who walk uprightly in Him. I think of the sun being a reference to the light, allowing us to see the direction we should take. The shield is a beautiful reference to the way He protects us. It has the promise, too, of God giving us His grace, which I know I need to get through each day - and to be able to walk uprightly as the verse says! Thanks to His grace and the salvation we have in Christ, we will be with Him someday in Glory.  The last promise is that He will give us what is good ("no good thing will He withhold") if we walk uprightly. We don't do this in our own strength or goodness, but by Christ's Spirit that lives in us as believers.

The verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs and the flower is from Verve's "Hope Blooms." I I stamped it with CTMH Sunset and colored it with Copics (YR61, YR68, RV14).  The card base is one of the My Mind's Eye "Bright Basics."

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:

MME Scripture Notecard #3

Introduction for all 10 Cards: After I'd been in the hospital a few days I went through crafting withdrawal. So today I began a project to make a bunch of Scripture notecards for my upcoming craft fairs in local churches. I wanted to keep them fairly flat, clean and simple for anyone who likes to send notes in the mail. I had to resist the temptation to keep adding more elements or embellishments. I'm using the My Mind's Eye "Bright Basics" as the base for each card in the set. FYI for other craft fair enthusiasts, The card bases come in a box of 50, with five each of ten designs for about $6 with a Michael's coupon. So I'm preparing five card boxes with ten cards in each set.

The verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs. The swallowtail butterfly is an oldie from Close To My Heart. Where we live swallowtails are either yellow or dark blut/purplish. I colored mine yellow with a Copic marker Y13. The ribbon is Michael's. I used this sketch from Just Us Girls for this week:

MME Scripture Notecard #2

Introduction for all 10 Cards: After I'd been in the hospital a few days I went through crafting withdrawal. This is the second card of ten that will go in my sets of Scripture Notecards. Once again I emphasized a verse about focusing on God's Word in our lives and the benefits of prayer/answered prayer.  This is my tribute to God who has helped me so much!

The verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs "Scripture Collection #4."  I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circles die adhered over the shiny black doily. Black organdy ribbon and a CTMH Crème Brulee flower and black brad are the simple embellishments.

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:
Blogger's Challenge - To Die For (Nestabilities Lacey Circles)
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge #68 - Anything Goes
So Artful Challenge - A Single Flower, with a minimalist Design

MME Scripture Notecard #1

I want to thank my friends that prayed for me while I was in the hospital. The doctors used terms like cellulitis, ischemia, possible MRSA, to describe what seemed to happen when two of my toes became quickly, badly infected and one turned black. Using words like amputation puts real fear in the heart, enough to take it seriously, submit to all tests and blood letting, and be determined to prevent a repeat performance. The element that alleviated that fear was knowing I had many friends praying for me and that I had an all powerful, merciful God who loved me as His own child and would help me. HE had to because I've always become allergic to antibiotics. Amazingly I was able to tolerate five days of IV antibiotics before I had an allergy to one of them. In some ways, that reaction even had a good side - it helped me get on oral antibiotics and go home a little sooner.

After I'd been in the hospital a few days I went through crafting withdrawal. So todayI began a project to make a bunch of Scripture notecards for my upcoming craft fairs in local churches. I wanted to keep them fairly flat, clean and simple for anyone who likes to send notes in the mail. So I'm preparing five card boxes with ten cards in each set.

Here's the first one:

I used two Spellbinders dies, Classic Scallop Rectangles Nestabilities and Foliage Two. The stamp sets are Our Daily Bread's "Scripture Collection2" and Close to My Heart's "Love Blooms" for the two-step rose stamp.  Three bitty sparkles added the finishing touch to the rose.
