Artbooking in August - Blog Hop #2

A Prayer and Praise Board

Welcome to the second week of Artbooking in August Blog Hop. You may have come here form Amy McVey's blog.  Each week we are sharing creative projects you can make using the Close To My Heart Cricut Artbooking cartridge with its stamps and chipboard that you can find here. We will each create these four types of projects throughout the month of August:

a card,
two-page 12" x 12" scrapbook layout,
mini-album,
and giftable item

Today I'm sharing a giftable project I made using the Designed Décor Black Frame and the Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

I wanted to make a Prayer and Praise Board for my daughter's large family. I wanted it to have prayer ideas that she and her husband could use to teach their four children how to pray effectively for different needs. I wanted the needs to be changeable, so I made tags from the Artbooking cartridge and added a 2nd small tag on front or a frame so that they would have pockets to slip in  changing prayer requests. I also added some verses about prayer on the fronts and on the backs of the tags. The tags with black frames were either made from double sided paper or were stamped lightly with Cashmere ink.

The cartridge has many different titles and word labels, so I chose five that I thought would help classify types of prayers:

Give thanks and Smiles would be for thanking God for blessings and answered prayers. Family and BFF (for friends)would come next, followed last by "yourself," hopefully teaching that God comes first, others next, and yourself last.

These titles are the ones on the left with mounted on black. All of the others are pockets designed so that you can put someone's name or prayer request on a piece of paper and it will show through the "window" or above the pocket.

If you are interested in which Artbooking tags I used and what size everything was cut feel free to email me at vodell2@aol.com  and I will send the directions to you next week.

I won't add the long list of details now, I'll keep you hopping to  Maureen OSullivan's blog for more Artbooking.  If you would like to see my other prayer board posted today you can find it here.

I'm sharing this project with Word Art Wednesday Challenge #92.
