Sweet Birthday Wishes

Someone asked me last week to make a bunch of children's birthday cards because she has so many grandchildren!  For this post I'll share the outside of two "girl" cards that were inspired by the challenge at Bitten By the Bug2 this week, "Sweet." Images and word for the first card were cut using Cricut Artistry. The cone and sprinkles were stamped using CTMH Sugar Rush Scrapbooking stamp set. I printed the rest of the sentiment using Word.

This second card's cupcake is from Cricut Doodlecharms. I embossed the white background with Cuttlebug's "Happy Birthday" folder. The "chocolate icing" was also embossed and I lightly rubbed a small chocolate pigment ink pad over the raised portion. I added some Sugar Rush glitter gems. I used a bone folder to emboss lines every 1/4" on the cupcake base.

Sugar Rush Belated Birthday

I wish I could say that I always remember to get cards in the mail on time, but honesty wins -  I'm forgetful or distracted sometimes. So I loved the new stamp set with matching dies, Sugar Rush -  Cardmaking, with the fun sentiment: Donut know how I forgot your birthday! I used all of the Sugar Rush colors for Color My Heart Challenge  and the sketch below from The Sketch File to design this card.

 

I cut the donuts at 1.5" instead of the size of the die, but then I placed each one in the center of the die, added a little tape on the edge to keep it centered for cutting the middle hole, and put it through my die cut machine.  I added Pomegranate and white embossed sprinkles on two of the donuts and heat embossed the white icing on the Canary donut with the Tangerine topping.
