CIC66 - Puppy Love

This is the first Friday of the month so it's time for our Clearly Inspired Challenge #66. I hope you'll join us!

This time, we'd like to see some cards of love featuring an animal. To see the inspiration from other design team members, be sure to visit the Clearly iStamp blog.

I used this adorable bulldog (my high school mascot!) called Mr. Spike and some dp from Basic Grey's "Green at Heart." I call mine a double spring card because I made a typical spring card, then attached the bulldog on an adhesive spring so that he wobbles back and forth when the card is moved. You can find directions for the spring card at Splitcoaststampers here. The adhesive spring is from Close To My Heart. I mounted the typical spring card on a Kraft card base so I can write a love note to my grandson inside.

If you're a photoshop person, I'd like to share how I made the bone with the sentiment I chose. If not, you can skip this technical jargon.  Using the bone png image, I went to image size and enlarged it to 2.75" width. I opened the sentiment png, went to Image/Size and enlarged it to 1.8." Then I used the Rectangular Marquee tool and went around one word at a time, copying them and pasting them on the bone. Before printing the bone, I went to Layer/Flatten Layer, then printed.

I dry embossed the square for Mr. Spike using the "Bricked" Sizzix embossing folder. The background was embossed with the "Geometric Rings" Cuttlebug 5x7 folder. I used felt ribbon to finish this card for my grandson.

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:
Crafty Creations #202 - Anything Goes
Here Come the Boys #42 - Anything Goes
Simply Create #16 - Anything Goes (paper and digital)
