Clear Dollar Stamps has changed the name and store to Clearly Digi Stamps! The new store is now open! My husband and I were traveling so this post went live a couple of days before the store was ready and I wasn't able to change things until today when we got home.
When I saw the delightful images in the new set called Carnival Kids, I knew I could use it for an upcoming birthday card and scrapbook layouts for my grandsons who love carnival rides. I was amazed that the kids were holding corn dogs and what I imagined to be snow cones (crushed ice with a fruity syrup), which my parents bought me when we went to the state fair many years ago.
I used the outline version, which I colored with Copics to match the fun rainbow colors in the Basic Grey "Oh, Baby Girl" striped paper for the Die Cuttin Divas challenge, Over the Rainbow.
I used this great sketch from A Die for a Sketch #112:
The die cut behind my images comes from Cricut Artiste (p.77 Accent 2 shift). I wanted that shape and the sparkles to suggest the "WOW!" excitement my grandsons have had when I've taken them to a carnival. I wanted the CTMH sparkle flourish to show the connection between the boy, the ferris wheel, and the "Fun times!" sentiment. I used Photoshop to copy and paste the word "Celebrate" on top of one of the tickets.
