With so much emphasis on Santa Claus at Christmas in our culture, it's hard not to make cards that use his image. Kids are fascinated by the idea of someone like Santa bringing them gifts in the night. We taught our children the real meaning of Christmas and it's encouraging to see them do the same with our grandkids. Historically, St. Nicholas had a wonderful ministry of kindness with children. When I found this image set, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, at Doodle Pantry, I was thrilled to see the sentiment that even St. Nicholas knows that Jesus is the reason for the season.
Here's the card I made to use this great sentiment. I followed several challenges to get just the right combination of elements. The pink music paper is actually from a vintage hymnal that I printed on some pink Basic Grey paper: The First Noel, Silent Night, and Away in a Manger.
This is one of the color challenges that inspired this card. I always think that pink, red, and green are a great combination for Christmas cards.
The inside of the card is stamped with three different retired stamps from Close To My Heart. The striped paper is from Basic Grey.
You can find this "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" set here.

Vickie,
When I first saw a card some time back with that sentiment I thought it was just great. I really like everything about your card. There is a certain nostalgia with the reality of Jesus front and centre. Thank you for posting with us this week. Your beautiful work really is appreciated by so many. Come back soon!
Blessings,

LOVE that sentiment--I will definitely have to find that one! I have Santa images but rarely use them because I like to focus on Christ's birth, too! Fabulous card! :)
