I had to take "time off" from cards and blogging the past week because of another cellulitis infection, this time in my fingers. It amazes me that you can have an angry staff infection without any cuts, just from poor circulation. When I was hospitalized with it last month, the doctors "put the fear in me" of the possibility of septicemia and amputation. Not something to take lightly! The night before the infection I broke out with hives again, this time 4" diameter. Finally after five days of meds, all swelling is going down and I can type and create more easily again.
I chose a beautifully colored image, Love's Ornament, from Doodle Pantry that celebrates Christmas with a beautiful sentiment about the love of Christ at Christmas.
The inside Scripture is one that I chose from the free digis shared by Word Art Wednesday. God's love was shown to us by the gift of His Son, not just at that first Christmas morning, but more importantly as the one who took our punishment for our sins when He died on the cross. Even now He fills our hearts with love as His Spirit lives within us that we might share His love with others, not just at Christmas, but all year long.
I used multiple layers on this card but still kept it "flat" to go through the mail. I embossed the white background with "Holly Ribbons" embossing folder and the two Doodle Pantry designer papers with Medium Dots. The leafy branch is from Spellbinder's "Foliage." I added glitter and shine with CTMH Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel and Black Shimmer Trim that you can see here:
May the Lord fill your heart with His love and joy so that it overflows to bless family and friends.

Vickie,
The colors are so vibrant and the swirls in the ornament so smooth and peaceful. A truly wonderful layout for a Christmas card with scripture inside and out. Our Canadian Thanksgiving has past, but we are so blessed and thankful to see this beautiful work of art, as well as all your past posts.
