I have the most amazing husband who showers me with love, kindness, and gifts. This week I surprised him with a reservation to a quaint restaurant for a romantic dinner. We don't eat out often because I have serious food allergies. We also live in the country which makes a long day for him if he drives home to get me and then back to the city. We found this restaurant in Excelsior Springs which is only 11 miles from us. The Ventana has a nice menu and a pianist who serenaded us with love songs. I knew this would be a treat for him as well as for me. He surprised me with a rose and four large storage organizers for paper crafters. I made this card for him to share my love and appreciation.
I used this lovely sketch from Designed to Delight's I Heart Sketches #5:
I tried two new things, mixing masculine and feminine papers to represent the two of us and tying two buttons together with one bow. Just a little subtle symbolism. I also wanted the card to be Clean And Simple in style. I wanted to keep the CAS design of this card on the inside, as well.
I loved the pattern of the pink Chantilly paper and repeated it with an embossing folder just the right size for a paper strip. (I've always loved the fact that my hubby isn't prejudiced against pink.) The stamps, ink, papers (Chantilly & Roxy) , red button, and waxy flax are all from Close To My Heart. Spellbinder's made the heart circle die and the embossing folder that matches my pink paper is from Cuttlebug.
Thank you for visiting and may God bless your life with loving friends and family.
