Today I was sick and didn't get to see four of my grandsons at a birthday skating party 60 miles away. So thinking of them, I decided I'd start making some sets of cards for their teachers in the Christian school as an end-of-the-year thank you gift. I know they don't get paid much and like to write notes and give birthday cards to the kids. Here are two of the cards I made using a fun digi set, Tiny Dinos, from Clear Dollar Stamps and this week's sketch from Unscripted Sketches.
I printed both colored images (to use later) and outline images, which I colored with Copics. The set includes some great polka dot and striped papers in the colors I used. I punched out the dino with a 2.5" circle punch and mounted it on a Lagoon pointy circle that I cut using Cricut Art Philosophy at 2.8" The second card used the same sized shapes, with a Sunset Cricut diecut.
To assemble the cards, I printed the sentiment on a 4" x 6" piece of cardstock. Then I embossed the part above the sentiment using a Cuttlebug folder that reminds me of bumpy skin, even though we don't know what kind of skin dinosaurs really had and that the folder was called tiny bubbles. My second card uses the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder. I attached three rows of ric rac on each card in a coordinating color. I had these wound on ribbon holders, so I don't know the source. I did use the red sticky tape to hold the ric rac in place on back and to help adhere those spots to the card base.
After I finished I reminded myself that I should make more Clean and Simple cards like these just so I can make more, especially for gifts!
Thank you for visiting!

These are so "Dino"-mite cute (sorry, couldn't resist!). I love how you tied all your elements together...right down to the bumpy skin! You have inspired me to dig out my huge stash of ric rac from my sewing days! Fabulous accent, especially fun on a kid's card!
